Welcome to Barham Chiropractic Clinic. We are situated in a quiet village a few miles outside Canterbury in Kent and have been established since 2002, caring for residents in Kent and as far afield as Surrey, Sussex, London and France.
Patients attend our Clinic with a wide range of issues varying from low back pain, neck pain, loss of mobility from either injury or natural ageing processes, which all impact on their quality of life.
We aim to help to contribute to relieving pain and maximise your mobility in the quickest, safest and most gentle manner possible.
Chiropractors are concerned with the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of conditions of the joints, muscles and nervous system – the ‘neuromusculoskeletal system’. So if joints are not working perfectly this may influence the tissues and structures around them, these being mainly the muscles, ligaments and nerves, which can in turn cause nerve symptoms such as sharp pain in sciatica, deep aching or sensory changes like pins and needles or tingling. The majority of causes are the result of mechanical stresses applied to the body through normal activities of daily living, poor posture and progressive wear and tear as the body naturally ages.
Treatment consists of a wide variety of manipulative techniques, designed to improve the function of joints, relieving pain and muscle spasm. Many techniques are very gentle and do not involve ‘clicking or crunching’ the joints. Chiropractic has evolved over the past century to include specific gentle techniques which are just as effective.
Treatment will be tailor made to suit each individual according to each patient's age, fitness level, bone density, flexibility, previous conditions and medication, all of which will influence the type of treatment chosen by the chiropractor.

Over the past 14 years she has completed many hours of post-graduate training. She has a special interest in sports injuries and she is due to shadow a team of cyclists, giving support, from Olympia in Greece to the Olympic stadium in London in July 2012, covering 1500 miles in two weeks in aid of the Kent Air Ambulance. She also completed the Great North Run herself in 2009 running in aid of Guide dogs for the Blind.
Other professional interests lie with any common work place injuries, but also the older generation. She especially enjoys helping to rehabilitate individuals following joint replacement surgery.
